• The story starts some 15 years ago with Chris Glasow discovering EIB with Siemens (as it was then named) whilst working as a freelance technology consultant with Norman Foster Architects in Germany. With interest in this newly found technology Chris decided to 'sign-up' and join a training course in Germany, where he passed the partner exam using ETS 1.1.
  
  Inspired by the possibilities of EIB / KNX, Chris founded the company Andromeda Telematics in 1996 and opened the first training school in the UK, most likely the first English speaking school in the world. With Keith Dunlop on board as the first technical employee, and later Technical Director, Andromeda took on their first projects Southleigh Park and the Citizens Advice Bureau Chessington.

Andromeda’s core business is the delivery of integrated control solutions. We design, supply, commission and maintain intelligent building control solutions focused on the industrial/commercial market, allowing our customers to reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and comply with current regulations. Lighting control (KNX / DALI) is our specialism, but our solutions also include window and blind control, field control of HVAC, and integrated headend solutions.

The company was founded in 1996, and expanded quickly in a market which, at that time, did not fully understand KNX and this new approach to interoperable open protocol control. Its success was validated by the completion of early projects such as the underground train network Jubilee Line Extension. Subsequently, the company completed the Citigroup tower at Canary Wharf, several large residential projects, and Harrods in London.

From this point on Andromeda have gone from strength to strength; establishing a reputation for innovation and excellence within the industry and building strong relationships with manufacturers. As specialist systems integrators we have grown to be the world’s largest KNX Partner, with one of the best technical teams. We have a team of skilled, well-trained staff with a combined total of over 80 years of KNX experience, enabling us to deliver on large-scale projects effectively. These include our flagship project at Heathrow Terminal 5 which has seen Andromeda successfully integrate cutting-edge technologies, and the recently completed British Library, Northumbria University, and Manchester Civil Justice Centre projects.
